Music encounters at Ostrów Tumski – “Non Sola Scripta” is underway!

Summer Sundays in Wrocław resound with music of the highest quality. The historic Gothic space of the Collegiate Church of the Holy Cross and St. Bartholomew on Ostrów Tumski hosts the 32nd edition of the Johannes Brahms Organ and Chamber Music Festival “Non Sola Scripta” – one of the most important classical music events in Poland. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear the music of masters performed live.

In August, the organizers present another series of concerts combining organ improvisation with chamber and vocal music. The festival features both acclaimed virtuosos and emerging talents. Concerts take place every Sunday at 7:00 PM, and their unique atmosphere is shaped not only by the repertoire but also by the extraordinary interiors of the collegiate church, with its impressive historic architecture.

3th August concert – Mateusz Gałuszka, Marcel Mola

Mateusz Gałuszka – organist, conductor, and educator. A graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he studied under Prof. Andrzej Chorosiński (organ) and Prof. Andrzej Banasiewicz (conducting). Prize-winner at organ competitions, founder of the “Musica Classica” Festival and the “Laurenti” choir in Jasło. Honored by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage with the Badge of Merit for Polish Culture.

Marcel Mola – student at the Secondary Music School in Krosno, studying organ under Mateusz Gałuszka. A young artist actively participating in concerts and musical events, developing stage experience and artistic talent.

10th August concert – Bogdan Narloch, Roman Gryń

Bogdan Narloch – organist, educator, and music promoter, graduate of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. Director of the International Organ Festival in Koszalin and the Organ and Chamber Music Festival in Słupsk. He has performed in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. His discography includes numerous recordings presenting historical organs and organ music of Pomerania. Recipient of awards such as the Gloria Artis Medal and the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Cross.

Roman Gryń – trumpeter, educator, and soloist, graduate of the Academy of Music in Warsaw. He performed with the National and Pomeranian Philharmonics and was principal trumpet of the Poznań Philharmonic. An international performer and co-founder of the Poznań Brass Quintet. Professor at the Academies of Music in Bydgoszcz and Poznań, where he heads the Department of Wind Instruments and Accordion.

17th August concert – Roman Perucki, Maria Perucka

Roman Perucki – organist and professor at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, principal organist at the Oliwa Archcathedral, and director of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic. He serves on juries of international organ competitions and leads masterclasses in Poland and abroad. He has recorded 28 albums and received numerous prestigious honors, including the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Cross and the Gold Badge of Merit for Polish Culture. He has performed over 2,000 organ recitals.

Maria Perucka – violinist and graduate of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. She has refined her skills through numerous international masterclasses. She performs in Poland and abroad with a repertoire that spans early, classical, and contemporary music. Member of the 4PM quartet, she has recorded for radio and television in Poland, Germany, and Slovakia.

24th August concert – Sławomir Kamiński, Tomasz Gubański, Ewa Gubańska

Sławomir Kamiński – organist and professor at the Academy of Music in Poznań, where he serves as Vice-Rector for Artistic Affairs, Research, and International Relations. He has collaborated with leading choirs and orchestras in Poland. He has performed throughout Europe and has been recognized for his recordings – the album F. Nowowiejski – Oratorio Quo Vadis won the ICMA award and was nominated for a Fryderyk Award.

Tomasz Gubański – oboist, principal soloist of the Poznań Philharmonic. A graduate of the Academy of Music in Poznań, he has performed with numerous chamber and symphonic ensembles in Poland and abroad. A respected academic lecturer, music competition juror, and masterclass instructor.

Ewa Gubańska – soprano, graduate of the Academies of Music in Poznań and Wrocław. She honed her skills at the Opera Academy of the National Theatre in Warsaw and later in Italy, specializing in Baroque singing under Gloria Banditelli and Gemma Bertagnolli. She has performed at prestigious festivals in Poland, Italy, and the UK, and is a prize-winner at vocal competitions, including first place in the Handel Singing Competition in London.

31th August concert – Emanuel Bączkowski, Rev. Zdzisław Madej, Michał Chorosiński

Emanuel Bączkowski – organist and Doctor of Musical Arts, graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome. He has performed throughout Europe and beyond. He has recorded eight albums and is actively engaged in education and research. For 20 years, he has been the organist of the Church of the Artistic Community in Warsaw. He was awarded the Bronze Gloria Artis Medal.

Rev. Prof. Dr. Hab. Zdzisław Madej – tenor and professor of musical arts. He studied in Poland and Germany and performs as a soloist in opera and oratorio-cantata music. He has collaborated with top orchestras and conductors in Poland and abroad. He was granted the title of full professor (professor belwederski) in 2020.

Michał Chorosiński – stage and film actor, director, and producer. Graduate of the AST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków. Winner of the Grand Prix at the “Verba Sacrum” competition. Associated with the Polish Theatre in Wrocław and co-founder of the Polish Classical Theatre. Since 2025, he has served as director of the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin.
