Dr. Giampaolo di Rosa
An artist of rare versatility – pianist, organist, harpsichordist, as well as an acclaimed pedagogue and researcher. He completed his education at prestigious institutions in Italy, Germany, France, and Portugal, culminating his academic path with a PhD in musical analysis. His repertoire is impressively broad, spanning all eras, including the complete organ works of J.S. Bach, C. Franck, and O. Messiaen.
An inherent element of his performances are his original arrangements and improvisations, where technical mastery merges with unrestrained imagination. Currently based in Rome, he serves as the titular organist and musical director of the National Church of the Portuguese, where he directs one of the most prominent organ concert series in Europe. He is also the titular organist of the cathedral in Vila Real, as well as the historical instrument at the Church of Saint Ildefonso in Porto. His international career spans performances and masterclasses across nearly every continent – from Europe and the USA, through the Middle East, to Australia and Asia.
