Fr. Prof. Dr hab. Zdzisław Madej
An artist with a rare professional path, combining a priestly calling with vocal artistry of the highest caliber. A lyric-spinto tenor, he was educated at prestigious institutions in Freiburg, Hannover, and Wrocław. His artistic dossier includes major operatic roles as well as a rich oratorio and cantata repertoire, ranging from the works of Bach to contemporary compositions. He collaborates with, among others, the Wrocław Philharmonic Orchestra, the Sudecka Philharmonic Orchestra, maestro J. Geiser, and J. Gembalski. In 2020, he received the title of state professor (“profesor belwederski”) from President Andrzej Duda.
Dr Emanuel Bączkowski
An outstanding organist, improviser, and promoter of musical life. His education at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome shaped him into an artist of broad horizons. As a performer, he has been associated with the Church of Creative Communities in Warsaw for two decades. A scholarship recipient of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, his decorations include the Silver Cross of Merit and the Bronze Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis. He also actively promotes Polish organ literature on the international stage, performing at European and International Organ Festivals across Israel, Germany, Italy, France, and Portugal.
Michał Chorosiński
An experienced and acclaimed actor, a graduate of the Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków, who serves as the narrator in “The Seven Gates of Jerusalem” program, giving the biblical words a vivid and moving dimension. For many years, he was associated with the Polish Theatre (Teatr Polski) in Wrocław. His declamatory mastery has been recognized with the prestigious Grand Prix at the “Verba Sacra” competition. As a co-founder of the Polish Classics Theatre and the current director of the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin, Michał Chorosiński brings deep directorial and interpretive experience to the concert, making the biblical narrative dynamic and resonant for modern audiences. His voice becomes the third pillar of this extraordinary evening, alongside the organ and the tenor, beautifully bridging the gap between music and the spoken word.
